About Me

About Me

Hi, I’m Neil Lobban, I began fishing as a youngster and now have over 30 years experience in game fishing for Salmon, Trout, Sea Trout and Grayling as well as tropical saltwater species. I guide and instruct on my home rivers and stillwaters, including the productive River Tyne system, and regularly fly fish myself for a host of species in the UK and abroad.

Members of the Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors (AAPGAI) are recognised worldwide for providing the highest standards of tuition. I am proud to hold their Masters qualifications in double-handed and single-handed casting instruction. I am knowledgeable about the latest advances and trends in tackle and all fly casting styles.

In addition to running Tyne Fly Fishing I am Chairperson  and lead instructor for the North East Fly Casting Club. I also provide regular online reports on River Tyne fishing and latest catches.

I work with the Angling Trust as a Coach Educator and hold the Coach Licence (L1 and L2). This includes delivering training and professional development to new and existing angling coaches across the North of England.

I’m fully qualified in Risk Assessments, First Aid and I hold Enhanced DBS certification and public liability insurance.

I’ve over 25 years experience of teaching and coaching in a wide range of practical and classroom based activities with experience of successfully engaging a range of learners of all ages in both public and private sector settings.

I have the knowledge and expertise to design fun and rewarding experiences for any individuals or groups. I look forward to meeting up and sharing my love of this fantastic sport with you.
